Trust- As a Verb

Trust. It’s such a simple word but a hard action. The dictionary describes trust as this: the reliance upon “integrity, strength, ability, surety, etc., of a person or thing;” (Dictionary.com) They state trust as being a noun, but what if we used trust as a verb. Something we do-an action of trust.

In my devotional book Jesus Calling by Sarah Young, the September 9th devotion is talking about trusting God. Not just trusting him, but it states this “As soon as you have realized you have wandered from your trust-path, look to me and whisper, “I trust you, Jesus.” This affirmation will help you get back on track.”

Trust is far more than a noun. We have to put our everything in trusting God. No matter what we are going through we need to trust him to get us through. My favorite poem is called Footprints. It reminds me that no matter what I am going through God is there with me-even when it doesn’t feel like he’s there.

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him and he will make your paths straight.” (Prov. 3: 5-6)

I know how often lately I’ve been using this verse, however in my life it seems like this is constantly what God is telling me. “Trust me. I have a plan far better than anything you could ever imagine…Trust me.”

I can’t imagine what God would do in us-and in the world-if we Christians put our everything in him. If we trusted him wholeheartedly with everything in our life. What kind of things God could do!

So, Join me! Lets trust God with everything-and yes, I know it’s hard to trust him with all areas of our life. Our human nature kicks in and tells us to hold onto something and not to release it because we like to have control-even if it’s just a little control.

I know, I for one love to have control over what is going on. So, I-with all of your guys’ help, support and your helping keep me accountable, am going to trust God with all parts of my life. Sure I may fall sometimes-I am human after all. But I’m going to believe that God is going to do amazing things in my life-in our lives- when we trust him in ALL areas of life.

Now, Lets let God transform us from the inside out, revealing our Innermost Unfading Beauty!

Love, Prayer and Blessings,

Kris
