A Few Good Men

Last night my youth group went on a city-wide all-nighter. There were multiple churches there an there were these guys from one church-I won’t name names-that said some things that disturbed me. I am going to talk to you guys for a moment here.

Now, these kids go to a youth group, and while I understand that just because you go to church doesn’t mean your a Christian, however you have to have some sense.

These guys were talking debating who could have sex with more women. They were degrading and saying things that no woman-no person should ever hear. I just want t take a moment to say that if you are a Christian, start acting and talking like one.

People who act like this are the reason that people don’t want to come to church. They think to themselves “If this is the way they act as Christians then what’s the use?” They see you acting like they do but tagging yourself as a Christian.

There is a certain way we are supposed t act as Christians. We are supposed to turn from our wicked ways after finding God, not continue with them. (2 Chronicles 7:14)

Romans 12:2 says “Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.”

Now, I’m not saying I’m perfect. I am certainly far from it, but when I hear “Christian” ids swearing and cussing up a storm like there’s nothing wrong with it and then guys talking about women like they are just something you use it boils my blood.

We need men in this world that love God with all their heart, mind soul and strength. Men who’ll lead their homes in the path of righteousness. Men who love God and therefore love the people around him unconditionally with a Christ-heart. Men who treat women like they are a gift from God–Which we are, by the way… 😉 Men who aren’t afraid to stand up for what’s right! The bible says the man is the head of the house. We need fathers that teach their children right from wrong. Now, I’ve been blessed with a dad that has done that, but there are so many kids that don’t have a dad that’ll teach them right from wrong. The bible says “Raise up your child in the ways they should go and they won’t depart from that path when they are old.” Proverbs 22:6

We need men who treat women as treasures, not toys. We need true, strong, Godly men in this world, not men that call them self a Christian and then acts the same way men of the world.

As the song says, “What this dying world could use is a willing Man of God…”

Happy New Year to all of you, and I pray God works in your lives in ways you think impossible!

XoXo,

~Kris
